Healthcare Initiatives: Improving Lives with ExtraMile Foundation

Introduction:
Access to healthcare is a basic human right, yet millions of people in Uganda lack access to essential medical services. ExtraMile Foundation is stepping in to bridge this gap, bringing healthcare services to underserved communities through a series of outreach programs and medical camps.

Medical Camps and Health Education:
One of the foundation’s primary healthcare initiatives involves organizing medical camps in remote areas where healthcare services are scarce. These camps provide free medical checkups, vaccinations, maternal healthcare, and essential medicines. In 2023, over 2,000 individuals benefited from these services, with many receiving life-saving treatment they would not have otherwise accessed.

Health System Strengthening:
In addition to direct healthcare services, ExtraMile Foundation works on strengthening local health systems. By providing training to healthcare workers and investing in infrastructure, the foundation ensures that communities have access to sustainable, quality healthcare in the long term.
